FFF: Far out

Space/space travel are set to be a huge fashion trend in 2014, (see NASA's 2014 schedule and goals to learn why) but I sort of love it for right now.  Midnight fireflies make the cosmos feel close and camping under the stars and spotting constellations make for romantic and dreamy evenings.

Here are my five space-inspired faves:
$12, Made in India, serrv.org

I absolutely LOVE the "Galaxy Wrap" necklace from Serrv.  Get it while you can, as it is available in limited quantities.  (Matching earrings)
$28, matatraders.com

This Crescent Moon necklace by Mata Traders references the orb's waxing and waning in vintage 20's style.
$12, Made in Peru, tenthousandvillages.com
Ten Thousand Villages' Starshine Earrings (and matching necklace) feature a trio of iridescent black glass beads surrounded by silver wire stars.
$24, Made in Kenya, tenthousandvillages.com
Also from Ten Thousand Villages comes this pair of hammered silver-plated copper Silver Moon earrings.

From the artists of Union Progresista Artesanal in Mexico comes this Galaxy Metallic Cuff  to "adorn your wrist like planets in orbit".

Honorable mention goes to this "Cosmos" Prairie Skirt made by the Ghanaian artists of Global Mamas, featuring a hand-batiked pattern that references the outer reaches. Currently sold out online, but you can add it to a wishlist at Trade For Change.
